It took staff at Serenity HospiceCare (formerly known as HospiceCare, Inc.) only a few minutes to agree on their new logo. “It was pretty unanimous from the beginning,” said Fred McDaniel, Executive Director of the organization. “Everyone was drawn to it as soon as they saw it.”
The community appears to be fans as well. “One of our nurses said a male patient noticed the new logo immediately and commented on how much he liked it,” said Tammy Bracken, Director of Public Relations. “We knew we had a winner when we got positive, unsolicited feedback - from men,” said Bracken.
Now, the organization has a reason to be even more proud of the logo. The Aster Awards is a medical marketing awards program for healthcare organizations and advertising agencies. It was recently announced that Serenity HospiceCare’s new logo won a Silver Aster Award in the logo design category. This elite competition honors the nation’s most talented healthcare marketing professionals for excellence in advertising.
Awards are presented in three categories – gold, silver and bronze. A panel of design and healthcare marketing professionals judge entries on a set of criteria for outstanding marketing materials, including creativity, layout and design, typography, production, quality and overall effectiveness. All materials are judged on their own merit for effectively communicating marketing messages without additional supporting materials or documentation.
“We found out about it only days ago” said McDaniel. “When it was announced in team meeting, applause and cheers broke out. Needless to say, this award is something we’re very proud of, and our thanks goes to the team at Transcend Hospice Marketing, who came up with the design.” Winners were announced on the Aster Awards’ website and published in Healthcare Marketing Today. |
